The historical town of Stillwater

Stillwater Historic Site

Stillwater was established in 1788 and is one of the oldest towns running along the Champlain & Hudson corridor. Stillwater was on the highway of history before the history was recorded. Her main street, Hudson Avenue, on the road from Albany to Canada, has known the feet of Indians who crossed here to the Hoosick River during the French and Indian Wars. For a small town it holds much history. Stillwater is home to the famous “Battles of Saratoga” which were key events in the American Revolutionary War. To this day The Saratoga National Historical Park preserves the battleground. Stillwater is also known for its easy access to the Hudson River.

Stillwater is a charming town; its friendly atmosphere makes it a perfect place to raise a family. It is community oriented and offers numerous activities for everyone, from museums and summer festivals to beautiful town parks and boat launches. There is a range of attractions close by all year long.
